‘Hold Me Close When You Can’ is the 3rd single to be released from our upcoming album entitled Windflowers (out Oct. 8th / pre-order). The Windflowers tour starts October 14th in Malmö.
More than 800 people collaborated on the Efterklang Developed platform creating the music video together. Read more about this wonderful project further below.
‘Hold Me Close When You Can’ was first released through the Efterklang Developed platform in May 2021. For five days, fans and friends were invited to collaborate by using their eyes and cameras to respond to the song while listening to it. In total more than 800 people from 49 different countries participated, and their photos now form the music video for ‘Hold Me Close When You Can’.
The photos have been edited to the song by Matt Felstead, and the video’s director credit is shared by everyone who contributed. The video is not about presenting music in the most impressive and flashy way, it is about collaborating and it’s about searching for togetherness in a time with much distance.
The Efterklang Developed platform/app has been developed by Efterklang and the London creative agency MARRIAGE, with the purpose of bringing listeners closer together and for Efterklang to be able to create together with their fans and listeners.
Efterklang Developed allows listeners to hear a new song for the first time before its official release, and to respond to it by taking photos while the track plays.
Wednesday September 22nd Efterklang Developed Event #2 starts: Everyone is invited to listen to a new song before anyone else and collaborate by responding with their eyes and cameras.
