Vincent Moon & Efterklang presents: AN ISLAND
November 9th, 2010 by rasmusThree months ago in August we met up with our friend and French filmmaker Vincent Moon on an island in the Danish country side. The objective was to shoot a film. A film with the same length as an album and a film full of performances, experiments and collaborations.
We were there with our 8-piece live band featuring Niklas Antonson (Slaraffenland), Heather Broderick, Peter Broderick and Frederik Teige. Over an intense period of 4 days we managed to collaborate with more than 200 local musicians, kids and parents.
Today we are able to present the very first teaser of this film and we can also let you know that the film will premiere in February 2011.
We value An Island as much as we value our albums. We consider it one of the finest projects we have ever been involved in and can’t wait to share it with you.
Please enjoy the teaser below

Sometimes you make me cry. You always make me dream away. I can´t wait to see the movie. It sounds very big, dark and firery.
Good look with your work.
I´ll be watching, listening: on the side.

Hi,
Looking forward to An Island, I felt I should translate into English what I wrote after your yesterday’s gig at Music Box, Lisbon.
“As it was: a huge gig, a total surprise for me, even bigger – it was perceivable – for the musicians. For them, I imagine, as they wouldn’t have waited for that reaction from the audience (these sounds are not exactly expected to cause enthusiasm); for me, besides the melodic and harmonic unpredictability present in almost songs (these are musicians whose skills stand clearly above the average), as it is very rare to find on a stage artists who in a natural manner show enjoyment while they play. Nice, very nice, said the vocalist. Indeed it was.”
Thank you
