Efterklang DJ party!! we could use your help!
October 22nd, 2008 by rasmusThis Saturday Casper and Rasmus will be DJ´ing at the Nordic Blizzard Festival at Tivoli in Utrecht in The Netherlands.
We have been named and programmed as The Efterklang DJ Party! This freaks us a little out. We like to DJ, but not so much when the purpose is to start a party for the masses!
If you have any suggestions to songs that we could play that you know will start a party then please fire away! The criteria are: no techno, no house & no euro-dance. Please leave your suggestions as a comment
And please come to Utrecht on Saturday!! our good friends in Slaraffenland are also playing! And so is Dúne, Men Among Animals and Orka.

in holland they like joy division, cure, sisters of mercy, no model army and that sort of gloomy stuff. i’d play them some bauhaus, the sound, cut city, early jesus and mary chain as well as real old 66-punk…. and of course abe vigoda, vampire weekend, indian jewelry and loads and loads of animal collective.

why not try The Don by Sisters of Transistors, their kind of how Goblin would sound if they listened to Krautrock, plus there’s a beatless Hot Chip mix on the single that’s actually really good.
that’s my big big recommendation anyway…
ooh ooh, and Turn The Car Around by Petals On A Wet Black Bough, less moody than his name might suggest. great summery indie with wonky beats.

Even though I could, I don’t want to bother you with an endless list of songs.
But this song just HAS to played.
It’s the one song I always thought Efterklang should cover, because of the the (somehow) complex structure and use of instruments. I think it would, if adapted, fit in perfect with your band.
And it’s very danceable!
