WOWWWW!!!! and we are on our way to China!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

last Friday the Performing Parades Concert premiered in Copenhagen. There is no doubt that this is wildest thing yet to happen for us. We would like to thank DR UnderholdningOrkestret for playing with us! Karsten Fundal for arranging the score! Karl Bjerre-Skibsted for inviting us and for being so über cool as the producer of the whole thing. We would also like to mention that Hvass&Hannibal are the coolest designers/visual artists on this planet and that their scenography and costumes were more than brilliant! Also thanks to Benjamin Hesselholdt and his extremely hard working team of cool and friendly light and camera people!

and thanks to all who came to the shows!!! we had an incredible time!!

Last Friday we were more than 50 people on stage!! Today we travel to China to perform as a 6 piece band!! Very schizophrenic and also very uplifting. We are so happy to see the different forms that Efterklang take these days!

Tomorrow/today (Friday, September 26th), is the big concert day! We’ll perform Parades from start till end with the National Danish Chamber Orchestra, and we’ve been looking forward to this for a long long time…

During the this week we’ve been rehearsing with the orchestra, and today we played the entire concert for the first time; an amazing experience!!! Besides the musical joy, it’s such a great pleasure following the process of the incredible scenography by Hvass&Hannibal and the magical light setting!!!

Apparently, both concerts are sold out, so we can only welcome those of you who already bought a ticket. Hopefully we’ll get another chance to do this sometime in the future…

Much love from all of us

Parades Concert Diary #2 – September 10th

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Hi all

A little late, but here’s an update on our preparations for the Parades Concert in Copenhagen, Day#2!

Today was really exciting, as this was our very first rehearsal with the whole orchestra. We tried 4 of the more “difficult” songs/arrangements, and the experience was overwhelming!!!
It’s hard to describe, but listening to the music for the first time played by an orchestra all together, feels so right. This first big rehearsal, was mostly about listening and getting used to the sound and general feel of the orchestra – so we were all waiting like small boys at the candy shop window:)

Can’t wait till next week, witch will be packed with rehearsals and preparations, up until the big concert day on Friday, September 26th!

You can read more about the concert here and buy tickets on BilletNet.dk (DA/EN)

Here’s a couple of Photo’s from the day:

The first sheet prints

it’s hard to get all in the picture, when there’re so many people, and your camera is way to small…

Efterklang on the telly – this sunday!

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

this will be a quick announcement to the people living in Sweden and others who can watch SVT2 on their tellies!

This Sunday, September 14th SVT2 will broadcast a full hour dedicated to Efterklang between 7pm and 8 pm. They filmed us when we played live in Lund, Sweden last spring and I think the program will include some interviews or footage of us fooling around as well.

We would like to thank Mikael and the SVT2 team for being so super cool!
And we look forward to watch the program as well!

take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend
