As we’ve told some of you before (here), we’ve been working on our very first theatre music lately. The play is called En Plads i mit Hjerte (a place in my heart), and will premiere on Saturday, September 23rd (the first couple of evenings are sold out though) and most days until September 20th on K1 (Kaleidoskop, Nørrebro).
We’re all extremely happy with both the process and result. It’s been very inspiring entering this art form for the first time. We’ve been given a lot of space to play with, by the whole fantastic team around this project, so we couldn’t have dreamt of a better debut than this…
If you have the chance, we recommend you (and your friends) to go see it! It’s all in danish but the acting and music are universal:)
The sweet blog-folks from Le Cargo ask us to do an acoustic version of one of our songs (blogotheque style), earlier this year at the Dour Festival, BE. We chose to do Mirador, and it was so much fun!!! Enjoy yourself:)
ps. Also we would like thank all the people who made it to our shows earlier this week with The National. We had such an incredible time, and the guys from the band are just as lovely and fantastic in persons as they sound!
I´ve just spend my entire evening updating and fixing Rumraket´s Myspace page. It is fully up to date now as it should be. Among many improvements I have added a new song (a remix by Turboweekend) from the upcoming Canon Blue single and also a new Canon Blue video for Battle Hymn.
Go have a look and a listen right here: RUMRAKET at MYSPACE
Soon we will also have news about a lot of Rumraket concerts in Denmark!!
xo // Rasmus P.S. for the Efterklang newbies who might be reading this - Rumraket is a record label that we run and it is full of good music.
During the wonderful Supersonic Festival in Birmingham a couple of weeks back we did an interview to a girl called Katherine. She asked us to give her and her boyfriend Michael’s new little girl kitten a name. As we only have one girl in our band; Anna and she’s a sweetheart, it felt natural to pass her name along to this little wonder…
Isn’t she lovely?
This is what Michael told us about about Anna:
“We found her on our doorstep one day and took her in from the rain, and she hasn’t left since! She is the sweetest animal there has ever been. At the moment she is just starting to learn how to climb trees and chase butterflies, and deciding to claw everything in the house”
Posteverything.com has been the place to get Efterklang & Rumraket releases and merchandise since we signed to The Leaf Label in 2004. Just last week Posteveryhting.com closed down after many years of fine service. We will miss them!
There is a bunch of buylinks on our pages that directs you to Posteverything.com. We haven´t had time yet to change them but we will fix it soon.
In the meantime we can tell you about The Leaf Labels new mailorder shop which can be found here: Leaf at Greedbag. They have all the Efterklang stuff or will soon anyway.
We can also remind you about Rumrakets MP3 store at Klicktrack.com. There you can download all the Rumraket releases in high quality and DRM free MP3s. The Efterklang releases are also available there but can only be purchased if you have a Danish address. The others are universal.
Recently we just added Halcyon EP by Canon Blue and Parades by Efterklang to the Klicktrack store.
When Thomas turned 30 on July 11th we played in Bracknell, England at the Fringe Festival.
In the outro of Caravan we started singing Happy Birthday to You and soon the crowd sang with us for Thomas. The photo below is taken by Adrian Holden exactly at the moment when a very happy and surprised Thomas came forward to the stage and received his honor!
yesterday we arrived at the airport in Barcelona and when we stepped out of the gate we were very lucky to catch the last km of Carlos Sastrés time trial. To our joy and surprise we saw that he had defended his yellow jersey!
Today when Carlos will be celebrated as the winner of Tour de France 2008 we are in Zaragoza, Spain the home country of Carlos. Im sure that when we play tonight at the EXPO 2008 we will give Carlos a shout out!
A couple of days ago we posted a music video made by Molly (age 10) and Jojo (7) and their complete remake of our song Mirador (incl. new music and lyrics) Read the story here
Now it turns out that the sweet kids from Maine, US and their father, have just recorded a live version of the song as well and put it on youtube. Have a look, we love it!!!
On September 26th, 2008 we'll perform our latest album Parades from start till end together with the Danish Radio Sinfonietta twice (8pm & 10pm), in the newly build DR Byen (National Broadcast Town) in Copenhagen, Dk. We can't wait!!!
